FreedomPop redefines mobile cell service by offering 100% FREE mobile cell plans.
To hard to believe? Read on.
FreedomPop a startup from Los Angeles established in 2011 by Stephen Stokols and Steven Sesar first aimed to create affordable mobile services in the US.
The idea was a carrier and plan that any person could afford.
Free with limited talk, text and data.
Beginning small with 200 minutes of talk time, 500 text messages and 500 MB of data the company soon began offering a wider variety of options.
Now FreedomPop offers family plans with unlimited data by completing wireless partner offers.
Even the most expensive plan currently available with FreedomPop is unlimited talk and text with 4 GB of data for $34.99 a month. Still cheaper than most competing carriers.
Previously FreedomPop was using Sprint cell towers to provide users with service but with poor results.
Now a recent cooperation with AT&T has corrected the service concerns being able to utilize both AT&T and Sprint cell towers in order to provide the best possible service to their customers.
Other synergies that caused FreedomPop to grow were investments from DCM, Mangrove, Intel Capital, Partech Ventures, and Atomica.
Over 80% of the US population own a smart phone and overpay for their plans.
With this at hand it’s surprising to discover that people on average only use 2.8 GB of data per month, yet most continue paying for unlimited data and other unnecessary fees.
WiFi makes it easy to avoid using mobile data giving you opportunities to save on your mobile bill.
FreedomPop also assists consumers who don’t regularly use cell phones as much as others, making it easy to pay for services suited for their needs.
All this is setting up FreedomPop to see continued growth and likely another round of improvements as it will soon be licensing their technology internationally.
Already available in the UK and Spain.
Looking to provide customers with free international calling across 60 countries, free call and text to other certified phones, and access to over 8 million hot-spots with nationwide roaming.
FreedomPop redefines mobile cell service in the U.S. and aims to do the same internationally.
