Kings star young point guard De’Aaron Fox and his agent, Chris Gaston join Matt and Stak on the first episode of the year of All The Smoke.
Fox talks about his time at Kentucky with Coach Cal, and signing a super max contract alongside Jayson Tatum, Donovan Mitchell, and Bam Adebayo this summer. Plus, he discusses the teams outlook and his Dad’s tweet about this teammate Marvin Bagley.
Chris Gaston talks about transitioning from being a trainer to a certified NBPA agent
Chris continued to work hard to build a business around player development. He founded the Houston Preps AAU Team, was the Director of Youth Basketball for TNBA (The National Basketball Academy-Houston), was a marketing associate for the Houston Rockets, and studied and passed the NBPA Certified Agent exam on his first try, transitioning to one of the league’s “go to” agents.
Within two years of passing the NBA Certified Agent exam, Chris signed the largest contract in Sacramento Kings franchise history (5 years/$163 million) for De’Aaron Fox and secured $4 million for Cleveland Cavaliers Damyean Dotson in the toughest free agent market in NBA history. Family First Sports Firm recently signed NY Knicks Center, Nerlens Noel.
