Twitter Enters The TikTok Bidding War

Last week, Microsoft announced their intentions of putting in a play for Gen Z-focused social media app TikTok after President Trump threatened to ban it if not purchased by an American company.

This past weekend, Twitter put its hat in the race for TikTok’s American business, which is represented by approximately 80 million users. Twitter, who previously purchased and discontinued Vine (which some consider a TikTok predecessor), has just a fraction of the buying power of tech giant Microsoft.

Could it possibly nab TikTok from under Microsoft’s nose by the September 15 deadline?
