World’s Largest Goodwill Region Launches Career Skills Development Program with Louisville-based Education Associates
Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin to implement a wide range of Learning Opportunities for the Development of Job & Life Skills.
Education Associates, developer of Project Discovery, the leading hands-on career education and life skills program solution for every learner, is honored to announce Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin has selected its programs to assist the many area learners, including those with special needs, in the development of skills that range from restaurant table service and retailing, to problem solving and self-esteem.
Goodwill of Southeastern Wisconsin’s implementation of Education Associates’ Project Discovery career development and life skills programs will feature evidence-based practices such as its specialized video modeling of job skills, visual schedules, and assessments.
The program was selected because if offers a ‘learn by doing’ approach in which adult learners actually learn and practice real job skills for real life jobs.
The easily implemented series for both Goodwill staff and clients will provide critical skill-sets and knowledge which they can apply immediately, and which will allow them to live independently.
From Project Discovery’s Caregiver module, where learners understand how to care for an ill or aging family member or nursing home residents to its Basic First Aid in which they learn the steps needed to aid themselves and others with minor injuries and medical emergencies, to the social skills series which provides learners with the skills necessary to be successful in everyday life, the Project Discovery program will provide the job and life skills learners require and deserve.
“We reviewed several programs before selecting Project Discovery. The curriculum perfectly matched our program objectives and offered the flexibility we needed. Overall it has been an extremely positive experience. We’re absolutely thrilled to be working with Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin,” says Tim Hagan, President of Education Associates. “Our Project Discovery program solutions will provide every single adult learner within the organization the career and life skills he or she needs for a productive and rewarding future.”
